Nassau Nabs 40 DWIs on New Year's Eve

Nassau County Police arrest at least 44 for driving while intoxicated New Year's Eve.

The arrested at least 44 people for driving while intoxicated between Dec. 31 at 9 p.m. and Jan. 3 at 8 a.m., according to a press release from Nassau County Police Commissioner Lawrence Mulvey and Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano, R-Bethpage. Twenty-seven of these arrests were between the hours of 9 p.m. on Dec. 31 and 7 a.m. on Jan. 1, the release said.

Over the holidays, Restaurants Against Drunk Driving offered to shuttle patrons and there were  that were arranged by Nassau County.
