Motorcycle Accident Sends Man to Hospital

According to police, a man was injured in a motorcycle accident on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow late Saturday afternoon.

Scott Cantalupo, of Levittown, was heading eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike, between the intersections of Newbridge Road and the Wantagh Parkway by the store, when another vehicle made a u-turn and cut him off, causing him lose control of the motorcycle, police said.

He was transported to in East Meadow.

As of 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Cantalupo is “in the emergency department being evaluated” at and “the physicians will determine if admission is appropriate,” according Shelley Lotenberg, director of public affairs at NUMC.
