A Queens high school teacher from Massapequa has been accused of sexually abusing a second student, according to multiple sources.
Joy Morsi, 39, faces additional charges after Grover Cleveland High School students revealed she may have abused a second victim, police told NBC.
Morsi was arraigned earlier this week on 20 counts each of third-degree rape and third-degree criminal sexual act as well as one count of child endangerment.
Authorities found out about the first victim after he told his friend, who then told her parents, who made the report, according to WABC.
This is the first time Morsi has been investigated in her 15 years at Grover Cleveland High School, the report says.
Prosecutors said Morsi, a gym teacher at Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, had sex with a 16-year-old boy in the basement and other locations inside the school. Morsi molested her student between June 5 and July 24, 2013, prosecutors said.
The victim turned 17 during their relationship, which lasted a full year, and made any other interactions legal.
Morsi's relationship with the 16-year-old wrestler began when she acted as a mentor to help him lose weight, the NY Daily News reported. Their interactions soon became inappropriate when Morsi "emailed the teen asking if he was a virgin" and "sent him raunchy selfies," the report says.
“We find these claims disturbing and reprehensible and she will remain reassigned — far from any student and the school — pending a criminal investigation,” Department of Education Deputy Press Secretary Marcus Liem reportedly said in a written statement. “We will work closely with the school to ensure they are given any needed support.”
The DOE "immediately removed" Morsi from the classroom when they were informed of the allegations, reported WABC.
