The body of an unknown man was discovered outside an East Meadow temple Saturday afternoon, confirmed Nassau County Police.

Cops said they responded to Merrick Avenue at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday after receiving a call about a man in distress.

Responding officers found an unresponsive man lying on the grass outside Temple Emanu-El and quickly pronounced him deceased at the scene, police confirmed.

Homicide officials are still investigating trying to confirm who the man was and what caused his death Saturday.

This is a breaking news story. Patch will update with new information as soon as it becomes available.

"receiving a call about a man in distress." I am just waiting for the hate messages to pop up. Sounds like nothing more than a man needing assistance.

Nobody helped him. He died. His mortal remains were found on the lawn outside the Temple by police officers who "quickly pronounced him deceased at the scene". It was subsequently reported that his death was the result of "an apparent drug overdose". Maybe if he had been born a swan...?
