A Bellmore man was brought up on weapons charges Friday while in custody at Nassau County Jail in East Meadow.
According to Nassau County detectives, Alfonso Marino, 63, was arrested while in custody at the Nassau County Jail. On Sept. 19, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security executed a U.S. District Court search warrant at the defendant’s home and arrested him on child pornography charges.
During the execution of the warrant, two loaded hand guns were recovered, police said.
The defendant was charged Friday with two counts of possession of a dangerous weapon in the fourth degree. He will be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Marino, a former New York City substitute teacher, was arrested by agents of the Department of Homeland Security in September and was found with various pornographic images featuring minors as young as 7 years old, according to ABC.
