Man Busted in East Meadow for Car Metal Theft
Eric Robinson of Brooklyn sold nine stolen cars as scrap metal to a recycling center in New Hyde Park, police said.
A Brooklyn man was arrested in Nassau County Correctional Facility on Wednesday for selling stolen vehicles as scrap metal, police said.
Authorities said that Eric Robinson, 46, was being released from the jail for an unrelated incident when he was apprehended.
According to police, Robinson sold nine stolen vehicles as scrap metal to a recycling center in New Hyde Park.
In October through November 2012 Robinson filled out and signed the New York State form with false information listing himself as the owner of each of the vehicles, police said.
The vehicles were stolen from different locations within the jurisdictions of Nassau County and New York City, police said.
Robinson was charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, nine counts of offer false instrument and seven counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
