Man Busted for DWI After Swerving on Hempstead Turnpike

Timothy Boyle, 52, had a .11 BAC when he was pulled over by police.

A North Carolina man was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) after he was observed by police to be driving recklessly on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow.

According to New York State Police, at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Timothy Boyle, 52, was pulled over after a New York State Trooper saw him swerving out of his line and then making a turn "over hazardous markings."

After the Trooper pulled over Boyle, he noticed the smell of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Boyle's vehicle. Boyle failed sobriety tests, registering a .11 blood alcohol content (BAC) and was subsequently arrested.

Boyle was charged with driving while intoxicated and traffic violations. He is due in First District Court on March 23.
