A Freeport man was arrested Sunday for driving while intoxicated (DWI) after he was pulled over for speeding on the Meadowbrook Parkway.

Michael, Thanks for reporting these incidents on The Patch. You are providing a valuable service to the community. The acts of recklessness need to be highlighted and the public should be made aware. It would be even more beneficial if we knew how this individual will be prosecuted and what the sentence will be. There are too many repeat offenders on the road. Again, thanks for providing this service and information. You will likely be saving a life one day if someone thinks twice before getting into a vehicle in the wrong condition. These drivers need to be prevented from being on our roads at all costs.

Neil I agree. At night I hear the motorcycles racing on the Wantagh and it is very very scary. Nothing is done about it because police cars can't keep up with them. They need to set up speed traps to catch these people. They need a no tolerance. One strike and you get your license revoked and pay a heavy fine and after that jail time. There are too many innocent people that die at the mercy of drunk drivers.
