A Freeport man was arrested Sunday for driving while intoxicated (DWI) after he was pulled over for speeding on the Meadowbrook Parkway.
According to New York State Police, Carlos Quintanilla, 24, was stopped by Lake Success troopers near the Hempstead Turnpike exit at approximately 8:30 a.m. after he was seen allegedly going 82 miles per hour (mph), which is 27 mph over the speed limit.
Police said that Quintanilla registered a .12 Blood Alcohol Content (BAC), and he was subsequently arrested. He was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, use of a motor vehicle without an interlock device and various traffic violations.
Police did not divulge when Quinanilla's arraignment is scheduled, but he will report to First District Court in Hempstead.
