Man Arrested in 2010 East Meadow Bar Burglary

The suspect was identified from blood left at the scene of three burglaries, including one at Johnny 5's Bar and Grill.

A Hicksville man was taken into custody Thursday for his role in a string of 2010 burglaries, including one at in East Meadow.

According to police, on Sept. 5, 2010, Peter Marchese, 20, along with two other people, entered the Citgo gas station at 400 Broadway in Hicksville at 12:30 a.m. by breaking the glass to the front door. They allegedly stole beer and cigarettes from the racks before moving on to another Hicksville Citgo at 1 Barter Ln. at 1 a.m.

The threesome allegedly broke the glass to the front door at this Citgo as well so they could take more drinks and cigarettes from this location.

After stealing from the two gas stations, police say the trio moved on to Johnny 5's Bar and Grill in East Meadow at 1:30 a.m.. They pried open a rear door and removed cash and coins from the register, police said.

Marchese was identified through DNA from blood recovered at the scene of the burglaries, police said.

Asset Intel Task Force detectives arrested Marchese at his residence on Thursday. He's been charged with three counts of third-degree burglary and his arraignment is scheduled for Friday at First District Court in Hempstead. Police have not identified the other two suspects, detectives said.
