Man Arrested For Hitting Man With Golf Club in Eisenhower Park

Defendant allegedly yelled racial slurs at two victims and threatened to stab them.

A Long Beach man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly struck a man with a golf club at the Eisenhower Park Golf Course Tuesday.

According to Nassau County detectives, Grant Smith, 48, was playing golf by himself on the Eisenhower Park white course when he approached two men in their 60s on the third hole and made rude comments to them.

The two victims made it to the fifth hole when Smith began disturbing them again and yelling racial slurs at them, police said. He then struck one of the victims on his leg with a golf club, breaking off the head of the club.
