Great Neck Man Arrested for DWI at Roadcheck

A Great Neck man was busted Friday for driving while intoxicated (DWI) after he was stopped during a roadcheck on the northbound side of the Meadowbrook Parkway at Hempstead Turnpike.

According to New York State Police, William Vasquez, 26, attempted to drive his gray Volkswagon through the roadcheck at approximately 10:35 p.m.

The trooper detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage.Vasquez then failed sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for DWI, police added.

Vasquez was charged with DWI and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. He is due back at First District Court in Hempstead on April 6.
