FD Extinguishes Basement Fire in Green Valley Road Home

There were no injuries, fire officials said.

A fire started in the basement of a house at 228 Green Valley Road on Saturday night.

There were no injuries.

According to Chief John Priest, the fire started around 9:06 p.m. while the residents were in the home.

"Everyone got out safely," he said. "The fire was contained to the basement."

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, Priest said.

The Uniondale Fire Department was on the scene while departments from North Bellmore and North Merrick were on standby.
