East Meadow Patch received the following email regarding Thursday's fire from Alissa LaCentra.
I was outside in the pool on Meadow Street across the street from the fire when I smelled the smoke. My family friend Tommy Jost and I went to the front yard after checking his house to see if we could see anything and thats when we saw the smoke pouring out of the roof of the house. Tommy Jost ran over and got the family out while I called 911. The Firefighters were there in five minutes.
