East Meadow Man Arrested for Weapon Possession

Police say Richard Mark Camberdella threatened a man with a semi-automatic pistol in Freeport on Oct. 30.

An East Meadow man was arrested after threatening a man with a semi-automatic pistol in Freeport on Oct. 30.

According to police, Richard Mark Camberdella became involved in an argument at 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 with a 47-year-old man. Police say that while pointing a silver .25 caliber Raven Arms semi-automatic pistol, Camberdella verbally threatened the victim.

After a struggle, the victim was able to secure the weapon and contact police. No injuries were reported, police said.

Camberdella is charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon and second degree menacing. He will be arraigned in first district court in Hempstead on Friday, police added.
