An East Meadow man was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of a Hempstead man, which took place on April 26.
According to Nassau County Homicide Squad detectives, a 911 call was received at 4:39 a.m. in regards to a male lying in the street on Martin Avenue in Hempstead. When Hempstead Police arrived, it was discovered that the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The man, identified as Stanley Cater, 47, of Hempstead, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by hospital staff at 5:39 a.m.
After an investigation, police arrested Herber Guzman, 40, of East Meadow. He has been charged with second degree murder and his arraignment is scheduled for May 3 at First District Court in Hempstead.
