The Nassau County Police Department will have extra cops on the road all weekend as part of a drunk-driving crackdown.
The county executive's office issued a statement that said the extra police force would be paid for by money collected through previous DWI fines.
According to County Executive Ed Mangano's office, 71 DWI arrests were made last year in Nassau County over Labor Day weekend.
Here are some tips for staying safe:
· If you plan to drink, choose a designated driver before going out
· Take mass transit, a cab, or ask a sober friend to drive you home
