Diane McCloud Remanded to Jail for Larceny

She was released from jail in January to seek a heart transplant.

Just seven months after early due to her failing health, Diane McCloud has been remanded to the after pleading guilty to petit larceny.

McCloud, 47, of Hempstead, was arrested on July 16 for robbing an Oceanside CVS, according to Chris Munzing, a spokesman for the Nassau County District Attorney's office. McCloud admitted to stealing diet pills, skin cream and Crest whitening stripes. The exact value of the stolen items is unknown.

McCloud had already served six months of a 15-month jail sentence for two thefts from a Westbury Target store when she was released in January to seek a heart transplant.

According to Leonard Isaacs, McCloud's attorney, she had a history of heart problems and developed progressive heart disease while incarcerated and was later recommended for a transplant.

McCloud was already on thin ice after smoking cigarettes in April, and she was also previously reported for not taking mandated drug screenings as ordered.

"The judge gave a swift ruling," Munzing said. "She will now serve the remainder of her term followed by six months for the petty larceny charge."

McCloud has not yet had surgery, officials said.
