Crimes Nearby: School Parent Arrested, School on Lockdown

Recent criminal activity reported for Bellmore, Merrick, Levittown and East Meadow.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

Bellmore

  • Dinkelmeyer Elementary School parent was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly made inappropriate comments about the school's principal during parent-teacher conferences. Click here for more.

Levittown

  • Island Trees High School and Memorial Middle School went on a brief lockdown Friday afternoon after police said they received a call for a man in possession of firearms in his home on Straight Lane. Click here for more.
  • Sometime between 9 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 27, a mirror was broken on a vehicle that was parked on Castle Lane.
  • Sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 27, a vehicle’s door was scratched while parked on Castle Lane.
  • Sometime between 6-8 a.m. on Nov. 1, a vehicle’s window was broken while parked on Division Lane.
  • Sometime between 10 p.m. on Oct. 31 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 1, a vehicle’s window was broken while parked on Celestial Lane.
  • Sometime between 10 p.m. on Nov. 2 and 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 3, a Garmin GPS and two DVD players were stolen from a vehicle parked on Kingfisher Road.
  • Sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. on Nov. 4, a burglar broke into Long Island Bariatric, and there was damage to a thermostat and bathroom fixtures.
  • On Nov. 5, between 8:40 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., a Chevy Tahoe was stolen off of Redwing Lane.
