Crimes Nearby Part II: Man Found Dead, Woman Arrested

Recent criminal activity reported in southeast Nassau County communities.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.


Levittown

  • A GPS was stolen from a car on Bloomingdale Road on May 9.
  • Jewelry was discovered stolen from a property on Crescent Lane on May 9.
  • The glass of the front door at RadioShack on Hempstead Turnpike was was found broken on May 12.
  • A leaf blower was stolen from a car on Barrister Road on May 13.
  • A car was stolen on Hilltop Road on May 14.
  • A Levittown woman was arrested on May 16 and charged with having an inappropriate relationship with one of the disabled students she taught at the Henry Vicardi School in Albertson. For further details, click here.  '
Merrick
  • Police were called to Camp Avenue School on May 13 after a student brought three ammunition shells in to show to friends, according to North Merrick Superintendent David Feller. For more details, click here.
  • New York State Police identified on May 16 a man who was found dead in a wooded area on the west side of the Meadowbrook Parkway in Freeport near the Merrick border last week. For more details, click here.
