Crimes Nearby Part I: Granny Scam, Handbag Stolen

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

Bellmore

  • On April 10, a woman on Bell Court was targeted in a “granny scam” and gave $1,000 to the suspect. For more details, click here.
  • A North Bellmore man was arrested on April 18 and charged with assault and drug possession. For more details, click here.
  • Two students were followed by a green four-door sedan while they walked home from Merrick Avenue Middle School on April 16, according to Principal Meador Pratt. For more details, click here.
East Meadow
  • On April 4, a handbag was removed from a car that was parked on Mitchel Avenue.
