Crimes Nearby: ID Thieves at Large, McDonald's Hold-Up, DWI Busts

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

Wantagh

• Police are seeking the public's help in catching ID thieves who struck in Wantagh in September. Click here for more.
• On Dec. 3, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., the complainant reported that his back screen doors window pane was broken by what appears to be a small bb hole by unknown suspect(s) on Woodland Avenue.

• Sometime between 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 8 a.m. on Dec. 9, complainants reported that unknown suspect(s) stole tools from their vehicles while they were parked at Sunrise Pets.

• A Massapequa man has been arrested after he allegedly held up a teenager outside a McDonald's on Jericho Turnpike in Syosset. Click here for more.
• Sometime between 11:20 p.m. on Dec. 4 and midnight on Dec. 5, the complainant's backpack containing keys, a debit card and cell phone was stolen from the basketball court at XSport Fitness.
• On Dec. 7 at 6 p.m., the complainant's pocketbook was stolen from a fitting room at Sunrise Mall.
• Sometime between 8 p.m. on Dec. 2 and 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 3, unknown suspect(s) removed change from complainant's unlocked vehicle on Charles Avenue. Another vehicle parked at the same location was also rummaged through.
• On Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m., a Bayshore woman was arrested for shoplifting at Walmart and charged with petit larceny.
• On Dec. 3 at 8:52 p.m., a Lindenhurst man was arrested for shoplifting at Sports Authority and charged with petit larceny.
• On Dec. 4 at 1:30 p.m., a Copiague man was arrested at Walmart and charged with petit larceny.
• On Dec. 4 at 6:40 p.m., an Amityville man was arrested at Walmart and charged with petit larceny.
• On Dec. 5 at 1:40 p.m., a Uniondale woman was arrested for shoplifting at Kohl's and charged with petit larceny.
• On Dec. 5 at 3:01 p.m., a Lindenhurst man was arrested at Walmart for shoplifting and charged with petit larceny.
• On Dec. 1 at 12:01 a.m., the complainant reported that unknown suspects damaged his fence on Lincoln Avenue.
• Sometime between Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. and Dec. 1 at 6 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke the passenger window of complainant's vehicle and removed an iPod on West Orlando Street.
• On Dec. 7 at 3:57 a.m., Steven Gus Ramirez, 21, of Baldwin, was arrested the intersection of Old Sunrise Highway and Sunrise Highway and charged with DWI.
