Crimes Nearby: Hammer Attack, Decorations Stolen

Crimes reported in Wantagh, Seaford, Massapequa and Farmingdale.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

Seaford

  • On Dec. 16 at 11:37 p.m., a Jamaica man was arrested for shoplifting at 7-Eleven and charged with petit larceny.
Massapequa
  • Two teenagers were arrested on Saturday after a roadside argument turned violent, leaving two men in the hospital with hammer wounds to their heads. Click here for more.
  • Sometime between 5 p.m. on Dec. 12 and 3 p.m. on Dec. 13, a cell phone and cash were stolen from a vehicle parked on Sunset Drive.
  • Sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Dec. 15, a vehicle was damaged while it was parked on North Broadway.
  • At 10:15 a.m. on Dec. 12, the complainant left their wallet at IGA Supermarket. When they realized it and called the store, they were told nobody returned the wallet.
  • On Dec. 14 between 9-11 p.m., unknown suspect(s) removed assorted christmas decorations from the complainant's front lawn and damaged property on Comet Lane.
  • On Dec. 9 at 5 p.m., the complainant reported that they believe they left their iPad mini in the fitting room at Walmart. When the complainant returned, it was missing.
  • On Dec. 12 at 6:28 p.m., a Brentwood man was arrested for shoplifting at JC Penney and charged with petit larceny.
  • Sometime before 10 a.m. in Dec. 14, unknown suspect(s) removed hub cabs from a vehicle on Brooklyn Avenue.
  • On Dec. 15 at 11:57 a.m., an Amityville man was arrested for shoplifting at Macy's and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Dec. 15 at 11:43 a.m., an Amityville man was arrested for shoplifting at Walmart and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Dec. 16 at 8:45 p.m., a Massapequa woman and a Middle Village woman were arrested for shoplifting at JC Penney and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Dec. 14 at 9 p.m., unknown suspect(s) damaged a fence on Carmans Road.
Farmingdale
  • A Farmingdale store owner pleaded guilty Friday to falsifying records in an attempt to steal thousands from the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA). Click here for more.
  • Police are asking for the public's help to track down the person who was the behind the wheel when a passenger fell out a vehicle in West Babylon last month and died from his injuries. Click here for more.
  • Sometime between 7 p.m. on Dec. 10 and 7 a.m. on Dec. 11, two Catalytic Coverters were stolen from Michel Auto Care.
  • At 3:18 p.m. on Dec. 14, a Vortex two-way radio, a Motorola two-way, Verizon WiFi and a Kindle Fire were stolen from a vehicle parked on Lockwood Avenue.
  • Sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 13, a Dover Lane home was broken into, and a PS3, PS4, a Samsung Galaxy and Dolls Sweatsuits were stolen.
