Crime Report: Woman Attacked, Jeep Stolen on Hempstead Turnpike

Crimes reported by the first and third precincts.

  • On Nov. 17, a woman was attacked by two men while walking on Prospect Avenue. According to police, two men, identified as Manuel Castro-Perez and Edgar E. Palacios, threw the woman to the ground and tried to steal her iPhone. The victim continued to struggle until a passerby screamed out a car window, which caused the suspects to flee. Upon police arrival, a witness joined detectives in canvasing the area, and the two attackers were apprehended a short time later.
  • On Nov. 23, between 8-10 p.m., a 1994 Jeep Cherokee was stolen while parked along Hempstead Turnpike.
  • Police have recently confirmed an assault that occurred on Sept. 18. Eddie Murdock, an inmate at the , injured another inmate, and he was later arrested.

All of the information in this crime report comes directly from the Nassau County Police Department. No one mentioned in the report has been convicted of the aforementioned crimes.
