Crime Report: Sick Woman Remanded, Walgreens Theft, DWI Bust

A Hempstead woman who was released from jail so she could spend her dying days in a hospice has been ordered back to prison after a judge received information that she could live another six months, according to ABC News. For the full story, click

  • Sometime after 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 16, three unknown suspects stole $779 worth of merchandise from at 2474 Hempstead Tpke. in East Meadow.
  • Sometime before 6:05 a.m. on Jan. 20, a GPS unit was stolen from a vehicle that was parked on Merrick Avenue.
  • Before 7 a.m. on Jan. 20, a GPS unit and radar dector were stolen from an unlocked vehicle that was parked on East Meadow Avenue.
  • Michele Pereira, 32, of East Meadow was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated at Long Beach Boulevard and East Hudson Street in Long Beach on Jan. 21.
