Crime Report: Several Criminals Brought to Justice
Crimes reported by the first precinct and the district attorney's office.
An Old Westbury man in connection with a scam he pulled when he conned an investor out of more than $1.6 million. James Kalpakis, 50, told the investor that his money was being used on "good opportunities." One of the properties was located on Cadillac Drive in East Meadow.
Other Crimes in East Meadow
- Police arrested the bank robber who for the on Front Street on Nov. 4. Barry Costa is also being charged in connection with a Westbury robbery.
- Officials say that two men who match the description of men who are responsible for a in East Meadow and neighboring communities. Lt. Det. Kevin Smith told Patch that he is confident that they have the right men in custody.
- On Jan. 9 at 12:05 a.m., various clothing items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle that was parked on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow.
- On Jan. 12 at 8 a.m., an unoccupied home on Pendroy Street in East Meadow was damaged.
