Crime Report: Recycling Thieves, Police Seek Grand Larceny Suspect

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Local residents are concerned with the around East Meadow. On several instances, the perpetrators have been seen in a white van stealing residents' recyclables, including mostly paper and prescription bottles. These materials can be used to steal someone's identity.

  • Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman who allegedly stole a woman's handbag on Sept. 14 at Century 21 on Old Country Road in Westbury. According to Third Precinct detectives, at approximately 6:14 p.m., the victim’s handbag, which contained her wallet and assorted credit cards, was stolen while on checkout line.
  • Sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 and 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 23, items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Post Street in East Meadow.
