Crime Report: Police Seek Rape Suspect, Local Doctors Charged in Scam

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Nassau County Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County Police Department are in identifying the pictured subject wanted in connection with a rape which occurred in East Meadow back in August.

According to police, on Thursday, Aug. 18, at approximately 5 a.m., the pictured unknown subject allegedly raped a victim in the vicinity of 1650 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow. The subject also displayed a knife, police said.

  • Two local doctors were among 10 people by the FBI Thursday and accused of participating in a $1 billion disability scam for retiring LIRR workers. The case grew out of a New York Times investigation in 2008 that reported a very high number of retiring workers winning claims of work-related injuries to boost their pensions.

  • On Oct. 22 between 2-8 a.m., a car on Jefferson Street was broken into and items were stolen.
  • Sometime after 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 18, a vehicle parked on Prospect Avenue had its windows broken. It's not known if any materials were stolen from the automobile.
