Crime Report: Man Convicted for RC Dugans Assault and a Serial Killer's Home to be Sold

Crimes reported by the Nassau County District Attorney's Office, as well as the first and third precincts.

A on Friday of second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, for slashing a bouncer in the head, face and neck at an East Meadow bar last February.

According to officials in the the Nassau County District Attorney's office, Thomas King, 21, of Lynbrook,  was involved in a verbal altercation with security guards at  in East Meadow on Feb. 26, 2010 because they would not allow the then-underage King into the bar. As security guards escorted him to the parking lot, officials said King slashed one of them three times with a "sharp object." Nassau police arrested King on March 9.

Other Police and Fire Notes

  • The home of serial killer Joel Rifkin is , according to the realtor responsible for selling the property on Garden Street. Rifkin has been in jail for years for murdering several people, some of which occured on the East Meadow property.
  • On Jan. 24, a vehicle was stolen off of Grove Avenue in East Meadow but it was later recovered.
