Crime Report: Man Arrested for Chimney Cap Thefts, Burglary Arrests

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Bethpage man was arrested for two burglaries in Bethpage and also for allegedly stealing two chimney caps off of homes in East Meadow. For the full story, click

  • Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and Acting Police Commissioner Thomas Dale reported the arrest of 77 burglary-related individuals in the past eight weeks at a press conference on Feb. 23. Of the 77 individuals, two were arrested for East Meadow burglaries. For the full story, click
  • On Feb. 20, Joseph Betz of Franklin Square was arrested for stealing $67 worth of merchandise from in East Meadow.
  • Sometime after 9 a.m. on Feb. 24, a bicycle was stolen from the yard on Mitchell Avenue in East Meadow.
  • Between Feb. 13 and Feb. 19, a vehicle that was parked on 7th Street in East Meadow had all four tires slashed.
  • On Feb. 20, between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., a vehicle parked on Freeman Avenue in East Meadow had its windows broken.
  • Between 1-10 p.m. on Feb. 24, a vehicle parked on Richmond Road in East Meadow had its windows broken.
  • Sometime between 5 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 25, a vehicle parked on Chaladay Lane in East Meadow was broken into. The window was broken, with a GPS and a music player being stolen as well.
