Crime Report: Little League Mom Jailed, Home Depot Thefts

An East Meadow woman was sentenced to 60 days in jail and five years probation on May 15 after she wrote a series of threatening letters to an East Meadow Little League official last year due to her son not being chosen for a local travel team. For more on this, click

More Crime News

  • Jason R. Hurtes, from Westbury, was arrested on May 17 at 5:35 p.m. for allegedly stealing $41 worth of items from in East Meadow.
  • Also at Home Depot, John J. Trane, of Great Neck, was arrested on May 18 at 12:20 p.m. for allegedly stealing $419 worth of items.
  • Sometime between 8 p.m. on May 13 and 9 a.m. on May 14, change was stolen from two unlocked vehicles that were parked on Cole Drive in East Meadow.
  • Sometime between 3-9:30 p.m. on May 20, a vehicle on 3rd Street was damaged from pellets that police said came from a BB gun.
  • Sometime between 9:30 p.m. on May 19 and 2 p.m. on May 20, a vehicle parked on Meadowwoods Drive in East Meadow had its windows damaged.
