Crime Nearby: Shoplifting Incident, Assault Charges

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Bellmore

  • On Feb. 18, Julia Jordan, 58, of Bellmore, was arrested on Merrick Road near South Seamans Neck Road, Seaford and charged with driving while intoxicated.
  • On Feb. 20, a vehicle window was broken at the LIRR station in Bellmore.
  • Damage was done to a PVC fence on Pappas Court in Bellmore. This happened on Feb. 21.
  • Sometime between Feb. 25 and Feb. 26, graffiti was found on a building on Bedford Avenue.

East Meadow

  • Sometime between Feb. 13 and Feb. 20, four tires were slashed on 7th Street.
  • On Feb. 20, Joseph Betz, of Franklin Square, was arrested for shoplifting at Home Depot. He attempted to remove $67 worth of goods.
  • A vehicle window was broken on Feb. 20. The incident happened on Freeman Avenue.
  • A bicycle was removed from a yard on Michell Avenue on Feb. 24.
  • On Feb. 24, the window of a vehicle located on Richmond Road was broken.
  • Sometime between Feb. 24 and Feb. 25, a vehicle window was broken and a GPS and a music player were removed. This happened on Chaladay Lane.

  • An unknown suspect stole a wallet from a shopper’s pocketbook at Waldbaums on Feb. 21.
  • A windshield wiper and antenna removed from vehicle location on Meadowbrook Drive on Feb. 21.
  • On Feb. 22, plates were removed from a vehicle that was located on Bedford Avenue.
  • On Feb. 22, plates were removed from a vehicle that was located at the Merrick LIRR station.
  • On Feb. 24, the window of a vehicle located on Larkspur Avenue was broken and a laptop was removed.
  • Sometime between Feb. 24 and Feb. 25, a vehicle window was broken and a GPS, laptop and cell phone removed from the car that was located on Columbine Avenue.
  • A vehicle window was broken and cell phone removed from the car, which was located on Little Whaleneck Road. This happened sometime between Feb. 24 and Feb. 25.
  • Sometime between Feb. 24 and Feb. 25, a vehicle window was broken. The car was located on Putnam Avenue.

Seaford

  • On Feb. 21, an unknown suspect(s) threw an aluminum can, which struck the front window of complainant’s residence on Gilmartin Lane and broke it.
  • On Feb. 23, Tom Poulos, 18, of Seaford, was arrested at the Seventh Precinct in Seaford and charged with assault in the third degree.
  • Sometime between Feb. 23 and Feb. 24, an unknown suspect(s) stole a GPS from complainant’s unlocked 2009 gray Honda that was parked in the street on Bayberry Lane.
  • On Feb. 24, Joseph Murray, 45, of Wantagh, was arrested at the Seventh Precinct in Seaford and charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
  • On Feb. 24, Jose Benitez, 58, of Massapequa, was arrested at the Seventh Precinct in Seaford and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Feb. 24, Richard Grillo, 44, of Oakdale, was arrested at the Seventh Precinct in Seaford and charged with assault in the third degree.

Wantagh

  • On Feb. 21, Roxanne Lawrence, 19, of Brooklyn was arrested on Wantagh Avenue, Wantagh and charged with petit larceny.
  • A complainant discovered damage to a 2011 black Cadillac and 2011 white Mercedes. The incident happened Feb. 23 on Manchester Road.
