Crime Nearby: Carjacking Leads to Car Chase, Man Charged with Identity Theft

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

  • Sometime between March 9 and March 12, 20 tires and rims were removed from eight vehicles parked in a storage facility used by Merrick Dodge. The located was Howell Street in Bellmore.
  • A wallet was removed from a vehicle parked on Genesee Street. This event was reported on March 10.
  • On March 13, a complainant discovered the driver side mirror ripped off of his 2004 brown Nissan and thrown onto his front lawn. This incident happened on Hicks Street.
  • A catalytic converter was removed from vehicle while parked at the Bellmore Train Station. This happened on March 13.
  • Sometime between March 14 and March 15, the locks were cut on a Green Edge Landscaping truck and tools were removed.
  • The window of Salon T was damaged sometime between March 17 and March 18.

East Meadow

  • A violin was removed from a vehicle that was parked on Green Street on March 11. No damage was done to the vehicle.
  • Plastic totes were taken from behind the Rite Aid on Hempstead Turnpike on March 12.
  • On March 13, Andre Hardaway, 29, of East Meadow, was arrested at TD Bank, 4126 Merrick Road in Massapequa and charged with two counts of falsifying business records in the first degree, identity theft in the second degree and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree.

  • On March 13, Owen Patterson, 59, of Freeport, was arrested on Merrick Road near Hewlett Avenue, Merrick and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired, driving while ability impaired combined influence, two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree, criminal impersonation in the second degree, two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, harassment in the second degree and one violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • A vehicle window was damaged and a GPS and stereo were removed from the car, which was parked at the Merrick train station.
  • A vehicle window was broken and a GPS was removed on March 13 while it was parked at the Merrick train station.
  • Three unknown males removed property from the front porch of a Columbine Avenue home on March 16.
  • A side mirror of a vehicle located on Webster Street was damaged on March 18.
  • On March 20, a carjacking in Hicksville lead a vehicle to collide with Harold Fayette School. Three men in connection with the crime. See all the details .

Seaford

  • On March 17, Marie Doherty, 59, of Bay Shore, was arrested on the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway near Sunrise Highway, Seaford and charged with driving while alcohol impaired and three violations of the vehicle and traffic law

Wantagh

  • On March 13, Ron Jacoby, 47, of Jericho, was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Wantagh Avenue, Wantagh and charged with criminal possession of controlled substance in the seventh degree, Driving While Intoxicated and one violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • A complainant discovered a dent in his 2001 gold Honda while parked at Wantagh High School on March 16.
