Christmas Night Fire Consumes Vacant House in East Meadow

Nobody injured after late night Christmas fire consumes vacant, foreclosed house.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. Saturday night members of the North Bellmore, and Uniondale Fire Departments responded to a fire at a vacant, foreclosed house on Tonquin Street near the corner of Midvale Avenue in East Meadow, just north of North Jerusalem Road.

No one was injured in the Christmas night fire, but it consumed the entire house and took firefighters nearly an hour to extinguish.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined but there was a small fire in one of the adjacent foreclosed houses last weekend.
