A Bellmore man was arrested Tuesday morning after he was seen acting erratically and found with cocaine in his mouth on the border of East Meadow and North Bellmore, authorities said.
Police said that Douglas H. Fromwiller, 48, was spotted crouching between a building and a truck near the intersection of North Jerusalem Road and Newbridge Road at 1:05 a.m.
When cops approached him, he allegedly became combative and attempted to conceal crack cocaine in his mouth.

While trying to apprehend Fromwiller, both officers fell due to icy conditions. One of the officers was treated and released from a local hospital after fracturing his right hand.
Fromwiller was charged with second-degree assault, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
