Vote Humane!

As former Nassau County Executive, Tom Suozzi transformed a municipal kill shelter into the humane, no-kill animal shelter known as the Animal Lovers’ League of Glen Cove. More recently, Tom has come out adamantly in support of A.740a/S.3753a, the recent New York State bill that will allow municipalities to regulate, control and manage the sale of animals by pet dealers, even hitting the streets last month with animal advocates across Long Island to ask Governor Cuomo to sign it into law. If elected again, Tom Suozzi has promised to take an unprecedented next step by forming a committee of reputable animal experts for the purpose of protecting animals, both wild and domestic, in Nassau County.

Hempstead Town Council-District 6 Nominee Diane Madden, co-founder of Hope for Hempstead Shelter Unlimited and an animal welfare advocate for ten years prior to entering politics, is responsible for accomplishing a full operational and financial audit of the Town of Hempstead animal shelter by the New York State Comptroller, exposing waste, abuse, and mismanagement in the process. When the Town Hall violated her rights and kept her out of the shelter, Diane fought back and won her lawsuit (Offer of Judgment - Madden vs Town of Hempstead – 2013). A proven advocate, Diane has promised that if elected she will continue fighting for the animals of Hempstead and for the people of her district as well, opening every Hempstead agency to an independent audit to restore the public's confidence in their elected officials and improve their quality of life while protecting suburbia. Long Island is full of animal advocates, and regardless of party affiliation, Long Island needs to show this in their votes to help animals on the Island.

If you care about animals, the League of Humane Voters- Long Island asks you to please vote for Tom Suozzi and Diane Madden today and please tell all of your friends to do the same.
