One of the most frustrating things while going through a weight loss challenge is waiting for results.
While others may make frequent comments about how you are looking better, I find it difficult to notice, and that's probably because I am looking in the mirror every day. It's a process that takes time, and from what I've heard, I have no right to complain, because it's much harder to lose weight in a short period of time if you are a woman.
For me, it's all about keeping things fresh. Let's take a look at the past week. Bare in mind that I am writing this on Tuesday, so I am looking back starting last Wednesday. That was my second day of personal training with the I counted that as my workout for the day. My body was still in a bit of shock on Thursday, so I decided to take an off day from working out, which is something I have to do as a reward for my hard work.
Now I got back to the grind on Friday by simply walking around Bellmore. I walked two miles on a beautiful day, which offers me time to clear my head as well. There's nothing wrong then getting two things done at the same time. On Saturday, I went to Planet Fitness in Levittown, and I spent an hour on the treadmill before indulging in some corned beef and cabbage.
On Sunday, I was invited to spend some quality time with my goddaughter and cousins at my aunt's house. Instead of doing the conventional thing and driving, I used my legs and walked a mile to my aunt's house. After a couple of hours with the family, I continued my walk around Bellmore, totaling more than four miles of walking on the day.
Yesterday, I was back to the personal trainer, which has been tough since I have chronic shoulder problems. I am impressed with how they keep such a close eye on me. While I am very sore at the end of the day, I feel great, and I look forward to continuing my work there.
As for my weight, I am down to 251 as of 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. That's a loss of 54 pounds since Jan. 1. Not bad, right?
