Letter to the Editor: Fundraiser for Veterans in Honor of 9/11 Anniversary

Greg Gatto of East Meadow is raising money for injured vets who have been protecting the country for the last 11 years.

This letter was written by Greg Gatto of East Meadow.

Dear Family and Friends:

As you know, the 11th anniversary of 9/11 is approaching. In order to honor the 343 firemen lost that day, myself, along with 100 firemen and three wounded vets are riding our bicycles starting from Manhattan at the New Freedom Tower to Montauk over a two day period. The ride will start on Sept. 16 to Sept. 17 and will be approximately 150 miles.

We are looking for donations in any amount made on the website, www.fdny343ride.com or checks made out to FDNY 343 RIDE. They can be mailed to:

FDNY343RIDE
229-19 Merrick Boulevard P.O. Box 343
Laurelton, NY 11413

Please write that you are a friend or family member of Greg Gatto on the lower left corner of the check. All money raised will help vets who were severely wounded protecting our freedom.

We are also selling t-shirts for $15 to raise money. You can call me at (516) 782-1177 or email me at bayrat77@aol.com with your size.
