St. John's defeats DePaul to get back into the win column
After suffering a tough road loss to #6 Duke, St. John’s was able to return to its winning ways by defeating DePaul by a score of 87-81.
D’Angelo Harrison led the way with a game-high 29 points, 21 of which came from behind the arc. The Red Storm (10-12, 4-6 Big East) trailed for most of the way but used two lengthy runs to help them regain control. Four St. John’s players reached double-digit scoring in this contest.
Cleveland Melvin scored 22 points to lead DePaul (11-10, 2-7 Big East) and Moses Morgan added 19 points.

Trailing by double-digits in the first half, the Red Storm spurted off 11 unanswered points to cut the deficit to 1 heading into the break. The Blue Demons were able to stretch that lead back up to 8, but a 13-0 run helped the Johnnies regain the lead for good.
St. John’s hits the court again on Feb. 4 to take on #2 Syracuse. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m.
