NUMC Kiwanis Hosts Successful Backpack Drive

Due to donations, the organization filled 20 backpacks with supplies and snacks for pediatric patients.

The Kiwanis exceeded its goal for its Backpack Drive for pediatric patients this year due to the contributions of NUMC staff members, hospital officials said.

"The children will be very grateful to be starting the new school year off on the right foot," Shelley Lotenberg, the director of public affairs at Nassau University Medical Center said.

Twenty backpacks were filled with school supplies and snacks due to "generous" donations, Lotenberg said.

"We thank the Nassau University Medical Center staff for their generosity and dedication to our pediatric patients," she said.
