NUMC Celebrates National Nursing Week

Twenty of the medical center's nurses were given certificates of commendation during a ceremony.

Nassau University Medical Center celebrated its nurses during National Nursing Week.

The medical center hosted a luncheon, in which 20 nurses were given certificates of commendation. The nurses work in various areas of the hospital such as  ambulatory, critical care, emergency, maternity, medical/surgical, psychiatry, case management and preoperative.

National Nurses Week is celebrated each year from May 6, known as National Nurses Day, through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
