NUMC and Nassau Community College to Host Annual Blood Drive

The event, in its 18th year, will take place on Thursday.

and Nassau Community College will host its 18th Annual Back to School Blood Drive on Thursday.

NUMC is continuing its endeavors with Nassau Community College to supply a substantial percentage of the blood needs of its trauma center.

"Through our educational efforts to increase the number of blood donors, and our own contributions, the college hopes we will help meet a substantial level of the community's blood needs,"Dr. Arthur Friedman, co-chair of the Nassau Community College Blood Drive Task Force said. "We look forward to working in partnership with community residents in this much needed blood drive.”


The blood drive will take place in the College Center Building at Nassau Community College from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Blood donors must be at least 17-years-old, in good health and should come with photo identification. Participants are asked to eat before donating. To make an appointment to give blood by call Dr. Friedman at (516) 572-7883.
