Free Movie Screening at the Cradle For Veterans

"Honor Flight, One Last Mission" will be shown Sept. 17 at 3 p.m.

There will be a free screening of the movie "Honor Flight, One Last Mission" at the Cradle of Aviation Sept. 17 for veterans and their family and friends, Nassau County executive Ed Mangano announced.

The documentary tells the story of four living World War II veterans and a midwest community uniting to give them the trip of a lifetime.

Volunteers fly thousands of WWII veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the memorial constructed for them in 2004. These trips are called "Honor Flights." The movie follows their 24-hour journey, which many veterans say - with the exception of their wedding day and the birth of their children - is the best day of their lives.

The show starts at 3 p.m. at the Cradle of Aviation Theater located at Charles Lindbergh Boulevard on Museum Row in E. Garden City. Seats are limited. RSVP to 571-6000.
