It has been 11 years since the nation was devastated by the Sept. 11 attacks.
Residents from East Meadow who were affected shared their feelings of loss, sadness, and hope with Patch.
In remembrance of the 11th anniversary, Patch has compiled a list of stories about how East Meadow has remembered those whose lives were touched by the tragedy in past years.
1.: Family and friends gathered to remember and celebrate the life of Robert Ehmer, a retired NYPD police officer and East Meadow resident, who was one of the the first responders of the Sept. 11 attacks.
