East Meadow Natives Pen Book on the Baby Boomer Generation

The authors seek the public's help in the completion of their project.

Sharon Sultan Cutler remembered growing up in East Meadow during an "easier time"--the 1950s.

"We used to play outside and our parents were not overly concerned," she said. "There were always a bunch of kids playing together."

As a way to pay homage to their memories and the 79 million members of the baby boom, Cutler and former classmate, Cookie Tischler, route: {:controller=>"articles", :action=>"show", :id=>"reunion-for-a-cause-two-former-emhs-students-reconnect-to-create-new-book"} -->, are writing "Once Upon Our Times," a book about growing up during the baby boomer generation. The two have launched a fundraising campaign to help complete the book which will be released in early 2013.

"It is one of the first books to distinguish the baby boomers into two generations instead of one," Cutler said. "The people born during the baby boom from 1946 to 1953 and Generation Jones from 1954 to 1965."
