East Meadow Girl Scout Honored on Scout Recognition Day

Christina Mendoza of East Meadow was honored for achieving the highest rank in scouting, the Gold Award.

Girl Scout Gold Award Recipient Christina Mendoza of East Meadow was recently honored by Town Supervisor Kate Murray and Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby at the Town of Hempstead's Scout Recognition Day held in Merrick. 

Young men and women who have achieved the highest ranks in scouting, the Eagle Scout and Gold Awards are honored. 

Mendoza earned her award by taking part in a minimum of 80 hours of planning and implementing a challenging, large-scale project that is innovative, engages others, and has a lasting impact on its targeted community with an emphasis on sustainability.
