I Didn't Win Or Did I?

I wanted to win Powerball!! It was a lot of money, and I knew exactly how I would be spending it!!

Everyone was hoping, or praying, to win the Powerball Lotto ; even me!! My dream of what I was planning to do with so much money may have been like yours.

Firstly, I would have to break the news to my husband, that I had all the winning numbers. Naturally, he would think that I was joking, so I would have to prove it to him. In my right hand would be the winning ticket, and in my left hand, would be two little pink colored, Bayer Baby Aspirins for his possible cardiac. Once things settled down, I would show him the list of events and activities I had planned.

I would be starting the New Year (2013) with a Mediterranean Cruise for my entire family and friends. Who exactly would that list include, you might ask..well, everyone that I love and would like to spend a week with, aboard my rented Ocean Liner!!! (I know some of you are now thinking..does Krissy really love me and would she want to spend a week with my family and me?!!)

Transportation to our port of departure would be provided! That meant, a limo to the airport, tickets for their first class flight to Greece and their boarding tickets to the vessel. All would have the best in accommodations! What better way to start a new life of luxury than hosting a MEGA-PARTY that would last one week with loved ones. There is no greater joy than seeing people happy!!

When the party/trip was over, and everyone was going back to their old, boring lives, I would surprise...YES!!! HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS!!!.. each family with a check for 100 thousand dollars. Yup. That would be my surprise gift to them!!!

Once back in East Meadow, I would have to do something nice for all my neighbors, who I did NOT take on the Cruise with me. I would give each family on my street, 10 thousand dollars. I mean, if I didn't take you on the Cruise, it meant I really don't know you, so...10K will have to do.

Next would be donations. I would give 10 million dollars to each medical/research organization that I now support, with my measley donation of 25 dollars. Imagine how exuberant the 'envelop opener' would be, once they opened the routine donation envelop and saw a check for that amount?!!! Oh, the smiles!!! God bless you for all the work and long hours you invest in trying to find a cure!!

Long Island has areas that are still recovering from Hurricane Sandy. Through the Red Cross, I would donate 50 million so that families, hardest hit, can once again stand on their feet. All the time, I would be counting my blessings and thanking God that the only thing we lost.. those 2 weeks.. was electricity.

Since Christmas is just around the corner, I would rent clowns and magicians, and together with my family and friends, I would visit and distribute toys to each little child that is ill, at Cohen's Hospital, in New Hyde Park. I would also make sure that a marvelous Christmas-Hanukkah feast was served to all the staff members, and visiting families. With permission, I would arrange for singers, donned in festive colors, to travel through the wings of the hospital, sharing good will and hope, to all. My children and my grandkids are all healthy..and I thank God for this!

I can't forget my church! I would donate $5 million to the Social Ministry program, so that no family goes hungry. Gift cards to neighboring super markets would be distributed. Some people don't realize that there ARE poor families in our town! This gift would make them happy. I am blessed that I never have to be concerned about 'do I have enough money for my food shopping'. It's something I don't think about..many families do. My list ended there, with a smiley face.

In visualizing all I would do with the money which I did NOT win, made me happy. It was almost, as if I did win. I got to think about the Joy of Giving. I didn't win this time..but maybe the persons that did, will read my list, and get an idea or two.  :)

Peace.
