Let's make East Meadow even better

I saw this article on a real estate site. I thought it was a great article. It made me feel proud to live in East Meadow.

Charming
Charming small town atmosphere and renowned Eisenhower Park are East Meadow’s claims to fame. The park, the biggest in Nassau County, offers everything from golfing to an outdoor theater—a great way to spend the day. Quaint houses and picturesque restaurants provide a certain “down home” feel to East Meadow, while Hempstead Turnpike offers all modern necessities like fast food and Home Depot (there’s also a hospital located along this major road, certainly convenient).

There is a diversity of people who live in East Meadow, including many young couples, friendly families, and elderly folks. This nabe’s convenient location makes it easy to commute (40 minutes to the city) while still maintaining a quiet, laid-back atmosphere.

What's awesome
Very safe area for families and children, and Eisenhower Park is a huge plus!

What's not so awesome
East Meadow has some outdated-looking buildings and strip malls that kind of detract from the down-home vibe…I think they could work to improve those areas and it would be a big boost to the nabe.
