NUMC Kiwanis, Pediatric Staff to Host Children's Holiday Party

Pediatric Holiday Party kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday.

In keeping the tradition that started 30 years ago, the Nassau University Medical Center Kiwanis Club, along with hospital pediatric staff, will host the “Pediatric Holiday Party” Dec. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the NUMC auditorium.

This year the expected 200+ children will be treated to dinner, graciously provided by the East Meadow Panera Bread. Sponsored by the Starlight Children’s Foundation, elves will be entertaining the children with balloon animals, jump castles, cotton candy and crafts.

Steven Glus will DJ the party and his fellow member from United Methodist Church, Casey Jones, will be painting faces while other members of the congregation will provide each child with a teddy bear.

Santa arrives at 7:30 p.m. and will be giving each special child a gift.

Linda Walsh, director of therapeutic recreation at NUMC, coordinates the event, which is a true group effort.
