EMFD Delivers Toys to NUMC's Pediatric Unit

East Meadow Fire Department volunteers don a different kind of superhero suit to help spread some holiday cheer.

As they have during each holiday season for the last four decades, East Meadow Fire Department volunteers took time out of their heroic duties to don a different kind of superhero suit.

Santa himself and his elves delivered toys to each child on NUMC Pediatrics and spread a little holiday cheer. The volunteer firefighters brought at least one toy per child, hoping to brighten the day for children suffering from various illnesses.

Volunteer firefighters were joined by hospital officials, Dr. Walerstein, NuHealth’s chief medical officer, Linda Walsh, director of therapeutic recreation, and Shelley Lotenberg, director of public affairs.
