East Meadow Native Wins Journalism Award

Joseph Biunno won the New York State Associated Press Award for Best News Series for his segment, "Tech of Tomorrow."

Joseph Biunno, a graduate of , recently won the New York State Associated Press Award for Best News Series for a piece he wrote and produced called "Tech of Tomorrow."

Biunno, a co-anchor for the ABC affiliate, WENY-TV, graduated from East Meadow High School in 2006.

He is a 2011 graduate of SUNY Albany where he majored in communications and broadcasting. As an undergrad, he created the campus television station ATV, where he interviewed Barbara Walters and Colin Powell.

In addition, Biunno studied at the New York Institute of Technology in Westbury and interned at Channel 12.

He currently lives in Corning, NY.
